I was amazed to discover this beautiful zoo just a quick ferry ride from Circular Quay. When you get off the boat, you are transported up over the zoo to the entrance in the! There is so much to see and so many interesting people to talk with at every enclosure. Is is obvious how dedicated these people are and the animals look healthy and happy. I wa blessed to spend two hours ALONE maximum of 8 in a group but I lucked out with zookeeper Natalie as part of the Wild Australia Experience. She was wonderful. She showed me all around the Australian section where I fed wallabies, an echidna, a feather tail glider, a wombat, koalas, and Tasmanian devils. She also brought me into the kitchen where meals are prepared to ensure animals get the nutritional best! I felt very at home with Natalie and answered all my questions and more! You must visit this changed my opinion of them!

This was one of my highlights in our visit to Sydney. It was so cool to go backstage. I must've taken a thousand photos of the sleepy koalas. We got to feed a wallaby and pet an echidna and just learn about what Taronga Zoo does. Would highly recommend!

Wendy, a zoo keeper at Taronga, gave us an opportunity to meet and interact with some of her favorite nocturnal animals at the zoo. She gave an interesting overview of each animal and what makes them unique in the animal kingdom. A common theme noted with every zoo keeper presentation was a message of conservation and preservation--brilliant. Don't miss the Bird Show at the end of the day. It was a wonderful finale to a great day at a world class zoo!
