All the things you want in a great restaurant... excellent food, great service, great ambiance and a spectacular view of the city. We went for lunch and we had the fixed menue - 3 courses including a cocktail - what’s not to love. My only criticism is that they have only one vegetarian option... in this day-and-age they need to do better in this area.

A unique/different experience is what you choose places like Aqua Shard for. After having visited this restaurant 5 times for breakfast, I am afraid they can no longer keep up to my expectations. The good things: the food is always very tasty and the view is fantastic. The service though.... During breakfast earlier today a) we were never given butter and jams we had previously asked for, b) we were given a smaller portion of pastries compared to other tables of the same size sitting close to us, c) we were informed that extra juice has to be purchased (which was not the case in the previous 4 times); yet, we were told that they "will check with the manager" but never returned with an answer or to ask if we are still interested in paying for some juice, d) we saw other tables around us being offered free coffee and juice due to delays in service even though we experienced similar delays, e) only when payment time came, we are asked if we wanted anything else (what's the point?). When you pay an good premium for a meal plus 12.5% "optional" service charge, you would at least expect a certain level of service to come with it. Disappointed.

It's a shame that some places will still be rammed despite poor service and an average menu as they have a gimmick to lean on. I've seen it all over the world, so why would my home city be any different? I was there for a 12 person brunch for my mum's birthday. Negatives: Waiters were very slow taking orders (over an hour) Food came at different times Slow to bring food, quick to clear plates (some were still eating when they started clearing) Despite having email confirmation that I could bring in a cake this still caused issues on the day Some of the food was cold and had to be sent back Waiters had bad personal hygiene Kitchen was clearly overstretched / managed poorly Refused to reduce the bill after we complained, they said "don't pay the tip if you're not happy". Our bad experience wasn't entirely the fault of the waiting staff so we felt this solution was unfair Positives: Food was good (but you can find better for the money) Acknowledged that we were not happy and made some effort to make up for it Let us eat the cake we brought Gave a small complimentary birthday dessert Recommendation: Don't go for the food, just go for the view. There are so many excellent brunch places in London who rely on making good food at a fair price to stay in business, go there.

Aqua is the best restaurant in the Shard, the food is spot on. Perfect place for business lunches and it is a very charming dinner spot. Better views if you get a table for 2, so you will be sitting by the window with the best view. Tables for 5 or more won’t have the best view. The food is fantastic, quite modern cuisine but still offer some more traditional dishes. There is a dress code, no trainers or shorts so keep that in mind. Service is also excellent. Prices are expensive, but they have a great set menu for lunch for around £30 if you want want to enjoy the view in a sunny day. Book in real advance, at least 2 weeks ideally. There is also a bar if you just want to check out the place, any cocktail will cost at least £16.

My friend & I had Afternoon Tea at the Aqua Shard, the food was delicious, scones a bit dry. Personally, the staff could have been a bit friendlier and genuine. We felt uncomfortable eating as felt we were being watched by waitresses. Service felt rushed, no one would ask us before taking things away from the table. My unfinished glass of water was taken away. We had also bought a bottle of still water at the bar prior to sitting for the afternoon tea, the lady put it in the ice bucket but it was forgotten about. The view is amazing! we later had drinks in the bar which for some reason the staff seemed nicer? the manager also was nice which turned our day around.

Me and my girlfriend went to aqua shard last night for her birthday. We had the most amazing experience !!! On arrival we were greeted with warm friendly smiles and our coats were taken. I told them my name and they said that they had a very special table for us. We got taken to our table and it was right next to the window with one of the best views i have seen overlooking the whole of London. From here we were then greeted by the managers and the other members of staff all asking how we were. Then we received a glass of champagne each whilst gazing out of the window. We had starters, mains and desserts all of which tasted delicious !! we had cocktails and wine which were amazing ! We could not find fault in the evening at all and would definitely go back there. From the Managers to the waiting staff, the food, the drink, the table and the views. Th whole evening was just a pleasure and delight. Thank you to everyone there for making it perfect ! p.s. its worth a trip to the loo for a view like no other ! We would definitely return again and 100% recommend !!!

Firstly, peice of advise, the TOILETS are a must to visit. You will have the best peeing view in London! Excellent experience in a great location with some fantastic views. We have went for a brunch celebrating a birthday . The staff were attendant despite the very restaurant floor. Food was very good, however it wasn't in par with the place and the price you pay in Aqua shard. We expected to be impressed more with the food. However the view is what made all the difference. It has a fantastic view over London from any table. If you are two people, more than likely you will be sat beside the windows. If you are four, you'll be sat most probably in the next row as there are only couple of tables in the restaurant that can seat four that is by the window. Having said that, regardless to where you sit you will have a fantastic view.

A perfect way to spend an evening in London. The food is fantastic and the views stunning. We saw the sun set over the London eye, then watched the lights gradually come up over the City. The changing scene over the course of the evening made the night superb. The mini-loaf and butter to start were delicious. Our entrees were lovely – smoked trout that looked beautiful and didn’t disappoint, and salsify with the tastiest hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. Main course was impressive as the steak came cooked exactly as ordered with tasty hassleback potatoes. The fish (Dory with lentils) was delicious too, cooked to perfection. Desserts were most interesting – marmite and chocolate semi freddo definitely worth trying, and lemon curd with meringue had just the right level of tartness to finish off the meal brilliantly. The staff were attentive and friendly, helping with the wine selection and finding the perfect balance between friendly humour and giving us space to ourselves. The chairs are comfy, there is plenty of room on the tables and even though it’s busy, there is plenty of room to move around and see the views. We were there on a Thursday night and it was full, but we still received great service. Ladies – the bathrooms are amazing with hand lotion and views as good as the restaurant itself! Would definitely recommend. Hard to find fault, so if we had to be pikcy, our only suggestion is that the music could be a little softer for the early sitting, but that’s probably just our age! and it wasn't intrusive. An amazing place, great food, great views, great atmosphere. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Aqua Shard!

I went for a dinner with my husband to Aqua restaurant and it was a memorable experience. One of the best views in London. We have a great table with a spectacular view. We have asked for the chef recommendations and WOW...it was delicious... . the presentation, the taste, the smell, the flavours.......absolutely perfect :) The staff were very friendly and happy to make the experience unique...fantastic service. We went for drinks at the bar after and the views with the London lights were amazing. We absolutely loved it! Highly recommended.

This was my second visit to Aqua Shard, having visited 6 months ago I was extremely impressed this time! On my prior visit the service wasn't greatly attentive and the food was average. Having decided to re visit I was amazed at the improvement over the recent months, the service was outstanding and nothing was too much. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially as I am quite difficult with my dietary requirements they new exactly what I could and couldn't eat and were happy to speak to the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. The food has also definitely improved and was delicious! Would happily return again and this restaurant is perfect for any special occasion.
