Great atmosphere -- must see beerhall in Munich. Obviously, very touristy -- but worth it for the overall experience. Food is actually decent, hearty German fare served no frills style. Think wursts and potatoes, pork and gravy, etc. Not really vegetarian friendly, though. And then there's the beer, which is served by the liter. So go ahead and go, but be prepared to share tables, down a beer, and hear Bavarian folk songs. Enjoy!

Great atmosphere and good food and drinks! Honestly, the prices for such a tourist hotspot or “trap” how it’s often labelled, are not too far off the rest of the beer halls around the city centre so it is definitely worth a quick visit! Outdoor seating very nice and pretty with flowers all around! Good and quick service even at busy times. Live band and traditional wear add to the Bavarian experience as well.

Visited on August during the heatwave. We had an excellent group of people that had taken part in a beer tour. We didn't order food but the beers came fast. Our waiter was very helpful and chatty, even though the place was very busy. For a bit of a quieter dining experience I would recommend heading up to the first floor.

The one and only original Hofbräuhaus! It has long been on my bucket list to visit this place and have a beer 🍻! The atmosphere is fun loud party mode. The halls are huge and family style seating. Pictured is Bavarian Pig Knuckle, a classic of Bavarian cuisine. Visiting is an experience and having a beer is a must. I suggest the Hefeweizen. The food is alright and worth a try. Overall I give Hofbräuhaus München 4 out 5! Would recommend!

I loved this restaurant. You really feel like you are in Germany when you are here. The beer is good and so was the food. I find the prices very reasonable. The service was amazing! Our waiter was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour. I would recommend coming here earlier as it got very busy around dinner time. We arrived at 4pm and we were able to get a seat outside, which was better (in the summer time) because inside was very hot and stuffy. When most people started arriving at 18 - 19:00 they struggled to find seating.

Amazing service! Immediately came up to us and had us seated. Drinks are gigantic!! Nice atmosphere, if you get Germans there. Very touristy, especially when the live band were playing. But for us, as tourists, was amazing. Must see/have experience!

Very lively place. Let's face it, it doesn't get more touristy than here. There was great energy (from everyone but our server who told us up front that he wanted to go on break but would take care of us first). The beer was great and the food was very good. We sat in the garden and it was quite a warm day. We were all leaning into the shade as much as we could. It is kinda a must see and you can have a great time and get some good food and drink.

We visited this restaurant/beer tavern was a trip down memory lane for my husband who had visited here fifteen years ago. Great atmosphere, busy but lively and the live music was fantastic. Seating is random sharing a table is what you do and people are friendly. Food and service was quick and turnover is rapid. A good experience and great atmosphere.

Tourist review (not a local) - This place is huge! Tons of tables to accommodate your party, and so much beer to be had by all. Once you find your table, a waiter will come by shortly to take your order, and a girl will walk around to sell pretzels and other snacks. The beer is delicious! And the atmosphere is so fun; people are playing music and singing songs. Loved it.

Let me start by saying it's not that crowded till about 5:30pm right before the band starts at 6pm. Then the crowd rush starts by the bus loads. But how impressed by the waiting staff I was with there quick and prompt service. Not many tip but i gave 6€ cash to my waiter and he remembered it by always coming to me first. It goes a long way to show gratitude. The large 1 liter of beer is so cheap at 8€ and the pork sausage platter was a steal at 11€. I was expecting higher prices but it had great prices. Definitely a great time. I found a table with a gentleman sitting alone and I left with a great friend. Enjoy the people at your table. Its highly recommended to try once.
