Will never go back! I had pasta with mussels which were so small they could have been clams. All the three meals we had were ridiculously salty. The waiter was unfriendly and couldn't be bothered - he didn't even ask us whether we enjoyed our meal. Don't waste you time here there are far better and more intimate places to eat

Great seafood restaurant - my partner and I had dinner; we had the raw seafood starter, the tagliatelle with a type of shrimp and two portions of fried seafood which also had fried algae which were unusual and excellent. The dinner was fantastic in terms of quality, price and atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

Il vivo is one of our favorite restaurants because of the way they prepare the fresh seafood. It is always creative and tasty and beautifully presented. ‘But mostly we come back because of one of the servers, Sara. She introduced my husband to oysters and how to eat them correctly so as to get the most flavor and enjoyment. She explains the menu and makes wonderful recommendations - she gives everything to her quests and makes us feel welcomed everytime we come. Because of her we keep coming back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here! Food was delicious, service was amazing. Our server was attentive, and clearly passionate about food, drink and his job. He made great recommendations as well as explained the whole of the menu to us, including how they source their seafood. Top that off with sitting outside watching the sunset in the square and we could not have been more pleased.

Fantastic place, excellent service, amazing food. If you are in Florence this is the place to have sea food!!!!

Well, it has opened around two years. My previous experiences were very good and positive. Everything was almost perfect: nice place, fantastic food, kind people and acceptable prices. Unfortunately, last sunday I went there with my wife and my son and parents. Honestly, there was nothing going smoothly. Lazy waiters, ignoring the menu. Even if we were with a small child, we had to wait almost 45 minutes, just for a very normal dish of pasta with tomatoes. Food was incredibly without taste: like eating plastic. Price was not too high, but surely exagerate for a simple lunch like what we had. That why only three stars. Probably is better to go during the week. Not on wend. But sincerly was very unpleasant.

One word. AWFUL We went to Vivo two days in a row and had two completely different experiences. The first day we went we had an amazing server that translated everything on the menu for us. She was attentive and extremely nice. Not only was the service good the first day, the food was as well. The food tasted fresh and delicious. Since we had such a good time at the restaurant the first day we decided to come again tonight. Let me tell you. The service that we got the 2nd day was completely unacceptable. We unfortunately had a different server that day, and from the start she gave us a nasty attitude only because we did not understand Italian. The food the second time around was a complete disaster. We ordered the 50 euro seafood platter and a pasta dish and coincidently the table right next to us ordered the cheaper version of our platter and the same pasta dish. When both platters arrived at our tables they were the exact same. Same types of seafood and the same amount. Then as the night went on, our server did not come to our table once. She completely ignored us and only decided to go to the table directly next to us to check up on everything. She was constantly bringing the table next to us bread ,water and was checking in on their meal. The one thing that made me SO ANGRY is that our table and the table next to us ordered basically the same food and we got completely different experiences. They received their pasta dish as soon as they finished the seafood platter. But for us. We waited 45 minutes longer to receive the same dish. Not only that. They had the audacity to give us half of the average portion. The pasta barely covered the plate. Completely unacceptable. How is it that when our table and the table next to us order the same food but we get treated so differently. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST. I have never felt so discriminated for being a tourist in my life. We also complained to the manager and did not seem apologetic at all. Again one word AWFUL

Nice place and nice food. All fish plates and very good taste. They also serve, and is their bestseller, raw fish dishes.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in my life and I've been to a couple world renowned places. Amazing seafood, incredible prices (I can't stress how good the prices are for what you get) and a lovely staff. The oysters were the best I've had. If this restaurant was in my city I'd be there at the very least once a month.
