Accademia is dedicated to Michelangelo and houses the famous "David". Note that nearly all museums in Florence and Italy are closed on Mondays! It is also very important to pre-book your ticket to skip the lines and excess waiting.
  • For a panoramic outlook at Florence, climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo! It is available day and night, most importantly for free!
  • If you seek an Italian food experience you should definitely visit Mercato Centrale, the central market of Florence. Inside the market you can find a wide selection of Tuscan cuisine, like like cucina povera, panino con bollito etc.

Best time of the year to plan your trip to Florence is from September to November or April to May. The temperature in autumn and spring is not very warm or cold and not as crowded as in summer. However several attractions like Duomo are always surrounded by tourists, even in the worst weather.
