Aram Khachaturian Museum

Zarobyan YA. str. 3, Yerevan

AramKhachaturian Museum opened on February 1984, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the outstanding composer. It is devoted to the exhibition of the Armenian composer’s personal artifacts, as well as to the research and study of his creative output. Khachaturian liked this house and lived here during his stay in Yerevan. The two-storied museum complex was constructed according to the plans of the architect Edward Altounian.

The building façade is framed with five arches reminding tuning forks.  Aram Khachaturian got acquainted with the architect project of the future museum and even wrote down his remarks on the title page of its album. The memorial house is on the ground floor, where ten spacious, light halls are intended for the permanent exposition. On the first floor there is also a concert hall with perfect acoustics. Various events and concerts held here enliven the house. All visitors can experience music presentation in the sound library on the first floor.

The museum organizes different programs, concerts for its guests and provides special open hours for group visits. There is also an audioguide with 10 languages in the museum
