Not a great tour. Just Line you up to take pictures with Birds, sea lion, and ask you to buy at the end of the tour. Total 30 pictures asked $100US. The pictures totally OFF the color. Rip of. Only enjoyed last part, which was on the Boat, had music and dance with Crews. They are work Hard, nice friendly, 5 Star! Total, 2and half star, Not impressed.

Such a great experience. The staff was amazing and the dolphins were unbelievable. Such fun creatures!! Gotta buy the additional experience of swimming with a fur seal! Totally worth it!

This is a money making scheme! The day cost over £300 for 1 person swimming. I decided to buy the photos and have them sent to me which cost around £100. This did not work and the link they sent me lead to a page where I can pay for the photos again! Absolute con. All they do all day is line you up to take photos so you buy them at the end of the day. You are stuck there until they say your bus is ready. You cannot get an earlier bus, you must wait until the later busses if you have arrived late. They just say you must go and see the show first. WORST TRIP EVER!!!!

I and my wife recently returned from our honeymoon to Punta Cana, and had a wonderful experience at Dolphin Explorer. The atmosphere was nice, and we really appreciated the complimentary lockers with key. We did the two dolphin swim which is supposed to be for up to 10 people, but we got lucky as there were only four of us total (meaning more dolphin time for us)! The dolphin trainer we were with was wonderful, and it seems the sea creatures are all taken good care of. The tricks were phenomenal, and I never thought I'd be able to say two dolphins easily lifted all 190 lbs of me out of the water for a ride around! Afterward, some employees gave complimentary 10 minute bird and sea lion shows that were entertaining! The only downside of this place is that you'd have to pay a whopping $150 for all of your pictures, but I and my wife knew this would happen and were prepared to turn them down. I realize a lot of the one-star views are from people who are justly irritated from this ridiculous price, but Dolphin Explorer gives a 5-star experience regardless.

The dolphin experience was fine. The total time spent there is way too long! We had to see the bird show and sea lion show. Not necessary. The water was dark green from too much algae. The price of the picture/video packet is too expensive!!! It's a racket!!!

The best experience I've had in my entire life 'til this moment! It's a very treasure experience! Loved it! The dolphins are beloved by the coaches who all are biologists too! There are bird's show and sea lion show too. For whom that loves natural life it's a very special option in Dominican Republic.

Had an awesome time swimming with the dolphins.. it has been my dream since I was a little girl. We paid $300.00 for 2 of us to swim with them. They take pictures of you as you swim with the dolphins, one with a stingray, one with a sea lion and one with birds. After we were done, we went to purchase the pictures and they were $150.00 for the pictures with the dolphins PLUS an extra $15.00 for each extra picture (sea lion, stingray, birds) so we were looking at another $195 JUST FOR PICTURES! It made me sick to my stomach. I couldn't believe it was such a rip off. I would NEVER go here again!!! And I want to warn each of you before you get into the same predicament we did.

We have snorkeled at nine different Caribbean locations, the Great Barrier reef, and the Galapagos Islands; this was by far our poorest experience. It took a while to get everyone checked in at the entrance and the briefing we received left everyone confused. Walking down the trail everything suddenly came to a stop and we were stuck in a hot area while they were taking pictures of all the groups with birds. Once we passed through that area we were once again in line, this time for them to take pictures with a sea lion. Then we went to the boat to drop of our gear and got issued snorkeling gear to go swim with the nurse shark; water was murky, and shark couldn’t be found until after we got out of the water. Next was pictures with the stingray; nothing like stingray city in the Caymans. Finally, we got onto the boat to go snorkeling. The snorkeling spot they took us to was the second worst we’ve ever experienced. This does not mean that there is no good snorkeling in Punta Cana, because the next day we took a different excursion with a different company and the spot they took us to ended in the top five of all our snorkeling experiences. The snorkeling stop only lasted for about twenty minutes and then we took of for the Natural Pool, which is a party sandbar where many of boats go to. At the exit they were trying to sell us the photos that they took for some outrageous prices. If this is your once in a lifetime trip, yes, buy the photos. However, we’ve gotten much better photos in other locations for a lot less money, and our underwater cameras provided us with all the photos we needed. The staff on the boat was outstanding and we were served a sandwich and drinks on the boat; this was the only positive experience on this excursion. Overall, we would not recommend this trip to travelers with previous experiences, but for families with kids who don’t travel a lot this might be a good experience. The dolphin experience also appeared to be bellow par when compared to other locations in the Caribbean.

I went there with my wife full of excitement to see and play with the dolphins etc. Went in there and saw the Dolphins full of marks in there bodies like if they were trying to escape. They are all caged up in the beach pool thats fenced up. The dolphins looked unhappy and half the time didnt ignored the commands of the trainers. They deserve to be free out there in the ocean. Being there made me feel guilty and heartbroken for them. Just thinking of how they must have been snatched up from there families in the ocean just so humans can profit from them with tourists. I would never go back there again nor support that type of business. If only they had an "open sanctuary" type of thing were dolphins would come and go freely and get fed there etc.

We did the snorkeling excursion and had a blast! The boat crew was amazing, extremely friendly, tons of fun! My wife lost her glasses getting in and a diver found them on the bottom of the ocean. Can't wait to come back.
