Luxembourg Gardens

Rue de Vaugirard, Boulevard St. Michel, Rue Auguste-Comte and Rue Guynemer, Paris

The Luxembourg Gardens is a landscaped park. It is a recreational and relaxation area. The place is overgrown with trees, boasting walkways, lush greenery and outstanding works of art everywhere.

The park comprises French and English style gardens and has many works of art (fountains, sculptures, grottoes...) and floral and herbal arrangements. The place is tranquil, offering respite of the city and its traffic in a verdant environment.

The Luxembourg Gardens are ideal both for the children and the adults. Children can entertain themselves in a number of ways, including riding the city’s oldest carousel, sailing small boats or attending a puppet show. The adults can relax in a beautiful setting and observe works of art.

The place is especially beautiful in summer, with the verdant greenery, and in autumn, when warm colors are prevalent.

The Luxembourg Gardens are near the center of Paris. They are open from early hours until evening. You can find the gardens next to the Pantheon, in the vicinity of the Latin Quarter.

This place is amazing. The gardens are lovely, when we were there they had a live orchestra playing; it was beautiful. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that you are not allowed to sit on the grass. So if you plan to have a picnic in the park it will have to be on the uncomfortable benches they provide or on their gravel walkways (makes no sense to me at all). Other than that; amazing.

One of the best places I have visited in Paris. Beautiful on a nice warm day with the sun out. Let the kids run around and you can grab a reclining chair and enjoy a drink and your book. A nice pond in the middle for kids to rent little boats and play for hours. It's a nice afternoon spent relaxing specially if you are a tourist and have had a busy schedule and just want some time to relax.

Lovely place to just sit down and read a book or chat with some coffee. Lovely crepe stand near one of the entrances. Watching the boats on the water is also fun, I think it was something like 4€ for 15mins to sail your own, we had just as much fun watching kids and parents race around the pond after them.

Out of many lovely parks in Paris, this was my favorite. It's not too touristy like the one in front of the Louvre - you'll see the locals enjoying the sun or having a little picnic. This place is big and thankfully filled with chairs and benches so one can easily find a spot to take a break.

Here's the deal with Luxembourg Gardens - I love this place. I love the scene, I love the people watching, I love the history, I love the grounds and the pond. My whole family loves it. It is the perfect place to go chill after landing from a long flight when you need to relax a few hours before bed so you can start fresh the next day. Also just a good place to go in general. Kids can do sailboats in the pond. Puppet theater Amazing huge playground Sit and relax and eat ice cream Soak it up and be happy

The entrance is free unless you visit to the museum within the park. We felt as if we were transported to a wonderland. The park is known for its lawns, tree-lined promenades, flowerbeds, the model sailboats on its circular basin, and for the picturesque Palace. This is one of the most beautiful places in Paris. It reflects perfectly the way I imagine Paris with the eyes of a foreigner: big squared palaces, music in the streets, big parks and big green avenues.

Simply stunning! Every shrub, tree and flower bed is symmetrically laid out and in its proper place. The grounds are immaculately cared for. Nice to see so many people relaxing and picnicking in the gardens. Also, this is the seat of the senate and of course there is a tremendous amount of history here.

Wonderful, beautiful, huge tiered park, nicely sectioned and divided out in a classical way, with a big fountain/pond in the centre. Surrounded on the edge of the oval area walkways and the square tree line are statues of famous people, and the entrance is guarded by 2 lions, with the Palace in the background. This area is free and available for the public, with green manicured lawns, children's playground and tennis courts. Great space to sit and absorb the beauty of the area, and relax and stay in the cool of the shade that the trees offer, fantastic park!!!

A large beautiful park in the middle of the city. It is great for a stroll and if you are visiting with kids the playground here is one of the best public play spaces I have found (though there is a small cost to enter). The central pool of water is also a fun spot to sit and watch the boats sail.

An awesome park! This is free and open to the public, with plenty of shade, benches, and picnic tables. This is a perfect spot for walking, running, sight-seeing, or just people watching. Easy access from the Metro and totally worth it for an afternoon out. Bring a book, or a blanket, or just yourself and enjoy this Queen's garden! The statues of queens (and the patron saint of Paris, St. Genevieve) are cool to see, too!
