The Bridge of Peace

4.5

The Bridge of Peace is a pedestrian bridge in Tbilisi. The bridge is a new steel and glass construction in the historical town of Tbilisi. The bridge links Tbilisi's Old Town to Rike Park crossing the Mtkvari river. Then, from Rike Park, you can take the aerial tram and go up to the famous Narikala Fortress.

The Bridge of Peace has a bow shape and is 150 meters long. Italian architect Michele De Lucchi designed the bridge in Italy, where it was constructed and then brought to Tbilisi. The bridge is also illuminated with many LED lights. It has 4 different lightning programs that run every hour from sunset to sunrise. Try to visit in the evening to appreciate the bridge with lights and in its full swing.

The bridge officially opened to public in 2010. Since then it is a famous touristic attraction, also very popular among locals. It's a perfect spot to take some nice pictures of the city and the river.

This special bridge, inaugurated in 2010, stretches about 150 meters above the impressive River Krum. The bridge was designed to create an interesting connection between the old city of Tbilisi and the modern city. Its design should be reminiscent of a marine animal and the best time to see the full beauty of the bridge is when the sun sets on the city, so it is filled with beautiful interactive lights. The lights come on for about an hour and a half before sunset, so it's worth looking toward the bridge for the evening!

Amazing bridge. It's a great time here for walking from the top and watch the river. The design is special and different than any bridge.

Interest architecture and that's pretty much it. You can also see this bridge from the cable car and from multiple places. It probably has some significance for Georgian national but as a traveler I don't think it was that big of deal.

Great place to stroll across the river and visit sulfur bath area. The bridge symbolizes peace and has an interesting design. At night, it lights up in beautiful colors while daytime it offers a stunning view of fortress, church and other buildings on both side of the river. There is a cable car station and metro station nearby too.

Cool looking bridge. Lights up at night. Can be set to Morse code mode. They did a great job with the design of the bride and the park around it. The bridge affords fantastic views. It is a great place to stop and take photos. From the park you can hop on the cable car. Or it is a short walk to the sulfur baths.
