Jagatnata Temple (Pura Jagatnatha)

Jl. Sudirman, Denpasar

Yes, we got to one of the historic landmarks in Bali – the Jagatnata Temple, Denpasar! Not far from the Puputan Square in Denpasar this magnificent temple is the reflection of the local history and culture. Just like any other city in Indonesia Denpasar is a home to a number of small temples. This one is among the most visited ones. The representation of local spiritual roles this temple is a quite popular tourist destination in Denpasar.
Founded in 1953, the temple is a place of worship for the locals devoted to a Hindu supreme god. Moreover, the place is not only a place to pray but also a location where locals organize a number of events. What we are used to call church services they refer to as religious readings. Well, those are held in the temple as well.
