Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad)

Dvortsovaya Ploshchad, St. Petersburg

One of Russia’s wonder is the Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad). You have to see the vast area spread before the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. The palace was the first building that was completed on Palace square. The Palace Square, on the other hand, is a beautiful and relaxing public place in the city.

A number of events of historic essence took place on this square. After about three centuries this square remains a public open space. A number of magnificent landmarks circumscribe the square. Besides, the annual May 9 Victory Day parade takes place on this square. The vast place is a mesmerizing sight to see when you are in the country.

While in Saint Petersburg, you need to see the Winter Palace, Winter Palace Garden, Hermitage Museum, Palace Square, and Alexander Column are places you need to visit together. Wheelchair users: You should also always call ahead to find out if there is wheelchair access to bars, clubs, museums, and restaurants. In most cases the answer, sadly, will be in the negative. Alternatively, assume it is inaccessible and hire a few people to lift you and your chair up the stairs, and then be sure to pay very generously for the assistance.

A fantastic plaza surrounded by beautifull buildings and of course the well known Ermitaz. I visited at night and everything was beautifull. Colours, youth, music all parts of puzzle that gives a result so amazingly beautifull. One of the best things to see and believe me it worth seeing it.

This is a beautiful place to just be during sunset or rather any time of the day to just stand by the river and enjoy the breeze. The wind can be chilling towards the evenings. The bridge opens at 1:20 AM every night and it's beautiful to enjoy it from a boat or from the land. This place is also nice to stroll around on a leisure evening enjoying the palace grounds around or watch some live performers. Lots of souvenir shops around which are reasonable and good. Small food joints selling hotdogs and beverages are also around.

One of the most significant places in Saint Petersburg. Must visit for tourists and travellers. Here you will find the famous Hermitage museum that is the world's largest museum. It is said you have to spend over 5 years to see all the items which are showcased there. And these items make up just 4% of the whole collection of the Hermitage.

Go here at nights. I think here is the best place for see white nights in Saint petersburg. Wow.. I can not forget the white night and the rain I walked here. And the lovers who looked at the sky in their arms under the rain. The days are vibrant and lively here . But at nights... everything change... like a magic... like poet.. espicualy at the white nights of St. Petersburg are calm and solemn here. If there was a bench for sitting, sure, I would sit there until next day. You Can sit and read poetry at this place for hours. It is possible to sit in these places for hours and watch the sky. If I do not miss the whole of Russia ... but I will surely miss this place. If you crossed over here, especially on the white nights of St. Petersburg, please remember me. And remember, someone is sad for this place, from a corner far from this place.

St. Petersburg is a city you must visit, and the heart of the city is palace square. Just make sure you have enough time to walk around, because a visit to the Hermitage is a must. The queues will be long, but it is worth it. When you stand on the square you feel part of history. My favourite city in the world, and this is my favourite place in the city.

Beautiful. I went in February in the snow and again in May just before Victory Day. So gorgeous both times. The Hermitage and the square are breathtaking. Pictures from 120 years ago show the Hermitage with a different colour scheme which was more of a brown colour
