Mustafa Centre

145 Syed Alwi Road Mustafa Centre, Singapore

Mustafa Centre is one of Singapore's 24-hour shopping malls on Syed Alwi Road in the cultural district of Little India, within the planning area of Kallang. Within a walking distance from Farrer Park station on the North East Line, Mustafa Centre is a retail hub attracting many shoppers with its wide variety of products and services. In 1971, Mustaq Ahmad; his father, Haji Mohamed Mustafa (1916-2001); and his uncle, Samsuddin, founded Mohamed Mustafa and Samsudin Co Pte Ltd (MMSC), and opened a retail store on Campbell Lane in Singapore. It mainly sold ready-made clothing and later expanded to sale of electronic items. In 1985, Mustaq moved his business to the ground floor of Serangoon Plaza. As his business expanded, Mustaq bought a shophouse on Syed Alwi Road. Subsequently, he bought the neighboring units and decided to build a new shopping mall to house his business. The business expanded internationally, to Chennai, in 2000. Mustafa Centre sold parallel imported cars in 2005 but has since stopped.

This is a very popular place where I love to go because you can get almost everything that you need here. The prices are reasonable and it is very easily accessible by public transport too. The best thing about this place is the huge variety of things available ranging from food products to clothes to electronics to jewellery. You will get all the Indian spices, vegetables and many varieties of frozen, ready to cook items can be found and Better stacked with Indian products than most retail outlets in India.A visit to Singapore is incomplete without stopping by at Mustafa Centre for all your shopping needs...

A great place where you can find anything and get easily lost. From food to gym equipments to clothes to electronics and more. Beside it there are lots of Indian restaurants and there are good Chinese stalls to have your break. The prices are reasonably cheap. However, would advice to go there on a weekday as the weekends are super crowded. By the way, it's 24 hours too.

Considered as the paradise for bargain hunters and correct on most of the goods to the best of MK knowledge and experience you can get almost enything under the sun here. It's 4 floors up and 2 down and in 2 blocks at present. But it looks like its being expanded. The place is very crowded in the evening and weekends. Best time to shop is between 1.00and 8.00 in the morning. Yes correct during the night. If you are buying food stuff, cosmetic items perfume or generally anything with an expiry date please check before buying.

Mustafa Center is huge and you will find almost anything you would need in a day to day life. Lots of options and prices are usually competitive. What it lacks is a customer centric environment. The staff is not at all friendly. They seem mostly robotic and oblivious to customer needs and sensitivities. I guess that's partly because of the huge crowd that is constantly surrounding them at the store. Still it would not hurt them to be a bit more attentive and supportive of their customer's needs. The worst in this area is the jewellery department. The attendants in this section like to talk and make merry instead of helping out customers. So if you can shop on your own without needing any assistance, this place is amazing. Otherwise stay away.

This place is like a maze, but if you're looking for virtually anything from a supermarket you will probably find it here, with the exception of alcohol, which try as I might I couldn't find! Just be prepared to spend some time searching the store! It's got very narrow aisles and a unique method to deter shoplifting by cable tying your shopping bags once you have made a purchase to prevent you popping anything else in there! Fair prices for Singapore compared to other convenience stores and supermarkets that we went into. Also, it seems to be open 24 hours a day!

First thing to buy there is SIM card. The international calling area are cheapest with the plans they offer. Other think I find worth buying is Perfumes and grocery for your air bnb stay. There are good nos of Indian restaurants here which will help you get daily dose of Indian food.

This is a place that you get quite literally everything you can think of. Cosmetics, toiletries on the ground floor, textiles and clothing in the basement, household items in the first floor, departmental store in the second floor. And it is a huge place to explore so ensure you spend some quality time if you are a first time visitor. Also don't be afraid because there are two buildings across a road. So if you are in the basement and enter from one end and go across all the way to the other end and come up, you will be in the other building. So unless you are careful you will get lost, keep an eye on your kids when here. Trolleys are available only from the second floor. Staff is helpful so ask for help when you find a staff nearby.

Mustafa has it Whether you are looking for a basic medicine or a fancy refrigerator, Mustafa has it, 24x7. Electronics, home appliances, jewelry, watches, tools, clothing, toys, perfumes, groceries, special foods, fish... they do not sell houses, cars and booze. Everything else is there in many brands and at reasonable prices. Convenience is the location, variety and being 24x7. Expect narrow aisles and people wandering only for tourism. A little patience will be required, totally worth it.

This is one place where I love to go because you can get almost everything that you need here. The prices are reasonable and it is very easily accessible by public transport too. This place can be crowded over the weekends and you can see loads of foreign workers doing their shopping here. You will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite “quintessential” places to go to. Think Walmart on exotic steroids, full of colors, smells, narrow, and crowded. Rows of food, electronics, clothes, cookware, complete with gold.
