Singapore Botanic Gardens

Amazing place for plant and flower lovers.. The National Orchid Garden, located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, was opened on 20 October 1995. You can find different varieties of orchids here, even some that are devoted to celebrities. Colourful garden with amazing flower smell surroundings. Highly recommended..

It is so wonderful and well maintained. Though when we reached there it was almost evening and my wife was very upset when she missed to enter the orchid garden:(, she loved it so much. We couldn’t cover the entire garden as it was then evening. But the amount of garden we visited, we were to impressed. A nice place for joggers as we saw may man, woman even children were jogging .

Must see of you like greenery in general and flowers in particular. Kids have a lot space to play and discover. The Jacob Ballas children garden is part of it and it's great for children. Look for monkeys and monitor lizards. Often there are concerts in the evening that one can watch while enjoying a picnic. The orchid garden is a must see too

Pleasant large park in centre of Singapore and not far from Orchard area. Beautiful grown trees provide shade and well trimmed plants with an area dedicated to herbs and spice plants. There are 2 fairly large ponds with some swans. Good place to have a picnic or stroll or even jog around. A few small eateries scattered around the park for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch.

Excellent place for plant lovers!!!! So many amazing tropical species and it is a UNESCO heritage. It is also a place for locals to enjoy the weekend. I spent a couple of hours walking around. It is for free, except for the Orchids Garden ($5). There are also restaurants and souvenir shops inside.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage site. And it certainly lives up to its name. There is a plethora of well-maintained native and exotic plants that decorate the gardens, making it a feast for one's eyes. You can also hear plenty of birds chirping and encounter many colourful dragonflies. They have been developing the park as well, with recently opened areas within the park such as the learning forest and the even more recent ethnobotany centre.

Botanic gardens is best place for anytime visit. It is suitable for relaxation, or to site visit like picnic. It is a very big place which requires a whole day to cover the whole place. Overall it's a best place to hang out with friends and family. Many people visit the place daily take pictures of excellent flowers and plants. Best of all the entry is free and their are many food courts in the garden that offers good taste for premium price.

Lovey place to come and walk. Local or not, it’s a super well kept and free place to enjoy nature. The staff here do an amazing job of keeping the place tidy and looking amazing. There are also some cool places to see plants, such as the sensory garden. I’m not one for flower watching but I did enjoy walking round this park/garden for a few hours.

I’m sure this place is absolutely gorgeous. Not entirely sure because I got there when it was getting dark. Though there are areas that are well light, for the most part everything off of the pathways are dark. I was pleased to see huge trees, leafs beyond the size I’m accustomed to seeing, large grassy areas, and I loved seeing how diverse the gardens are with so many different themed spots (I just couldn’t really see them in the dark). I definitely need to go back during the day. The three highlights I saw were the Band Stand, which was well lit and provided a fun almost step-back-in-time feel about it; the Waterfall, also well lit and provided a much needed cooling effect from the dripping tunnel behind the waterfall and the spray from falls (it is manmade and not very big, but was a fun little find), and lastly the huge banyan tree on the southeast shore of the Swan Lake on the south side of the park, which was just impressive with how many roots descent from its lofty branches to the ground. Go check the gardens out, but get there before it is dark! The Subway has a stop right at the gardens so they are easy to get to via subway. The Blue and yellow line both stop there. The gardens are free, but some of the themed sections do require an entrance fee. All of those close at dusk, so I wasn’t able to see any of them. Next time.

Me and my brother's family were having a picnic here a couple of days ago. The garden is quite spacious, a lot of greenery, it also has spaces for children. During hot season, it is recommended to come here after 4 pm so you don't feel as hot. You can bring your own picnic rug or use a thin tablecloth (you can buy easily at Daiso for S$2) to make your own space to sit down and relax. Some animals like turtles, swans live here peacefully and sometimes people bring their pets here. Highly recommended place to hangout with friends or family.
