Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

3205 Nevada 159, Las Vegas

The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada is a landscape, which is located about 24 km west of Las Vegas, and is easily seen from the Las Vegas Strip. The area is visited by more than two million people each year.
The conservation area showcases a set of large red rock formations: a set of sandstone peaks and walls called the Keystone Thrust. The walls are up to 910 m high, making them a popular hiking and rock climbing destination. The highest point is La Madre Mountain, at 2,485 m.
A one-way loop road, 21 km long, provides vehicle access to many of the features in the area. Several side roads and parking areas allow access to many of the area trails. A visitor center is located at the start of the loop road.

This park is not too big, but the rock inside are awesome! The colors are incredible. I really recommend to visit this park. They have different places to observe the amazing Panorama and bathrooms in every place. Also you can enjoy the trail of hiking. The street is smooth and easy way by car.

Red Rocks is one of the main reasons I still live in Las Vegas. During the summer it may be a little hot to visit, but in the winter spring and fall it is absolutely perfect. The hikes are amazing the climbing is some of the best and there's bouldering everywhere. Highly recommend going there. Calico tanks and Ice Box Canyon are some of my favorite trails

Vegas has perfect places to visit for family vacations! Red Rock is a gorgeous, relaxing area. Bonny Springs Ranch in the Red Rocks is a must stop! Really excellent food in their authentic restaurant, large petting zoo with lots of animals walking FREE, a very real copy of a western town with live performances in the streets. Weekend train rides for kiddies is an added special treat. I'm an adult but felt like a kid again!

It was a great park. They have a paved road you can drive all the way through and park in parking lot near the hiking trails. So you can hike at your convenience me and my wife are not avid hikers but we enjoy nature and with being in the desert it was over 100degrees the day so it was nice to be able to ride in an air conditioned car we we got too hot to hike. It was beautiful park. And definitely worth a visit

This place is absolutely beautiful and surprisingly close to Las Vegas. I drove the scenic loop versus hiking since a) it was 110 degrees and b) solo female traveller (don't feel comfy hiking anywhere solo-especially when I am not familiar with the area). The drive was gorgeous and I stopped at about 3/4 of the scenic lookouts. The visitors centre is great with lots of things to see. The gift shop isn't crazy expensive either. $15 US to get in to Red Rock Canyon conservation area. Well worth it. I went on a Saturday in august and it was quiet enough to always find lots of space to park at each lookout.

With miles of trails through desert landscape Red Rock Canyon is one of Las Vegas’ top places to visit! Rock climbing, hiking, picnicking, exploring.....great for bird watching especially near Lost Creek. I only wish all those that visited were more respectful to nature. If you’re a conscientious nature lover, do pitch in and bring an empty garbage bag to clean up after your fellow litterbug. Better yet just don’t leave your trash behind.

An incredible place to visit. Do not mis Red Rock Canyon while in Las Vegas!! We went on a chilly rainy day and still had a blast!! Some of the trails are an easy walk. Some can be trying. Wear good foot shoes and take plenty of water. Definitely a cool picnic spot. This is a great warm up for Valley of Fire!

If you like hiking a little, or intensely. You must go here. A 13mile loop to drive, with many spots to park and enjoy what absolute beauty mother nature has to offer. Can see Las Vegas in the distance. I look forward to to going back for more intense hiking! A Must See!

You might get told this is an excellent place to take your exotic car for a drive but that's only true if you don't get stuck behind some dude doing 30. It is an absolutely beautiful place and i will going again, just not in a Lamborghini. It was $15 for a 30 minute drive and it wasn't until the end that i realized i could pass the shower cars... In a responsible way of course.

One of my favorite places to hike! Definitely don't go alone but this place is a must if you're going to visit Vegas and you want to see more of the nature side of this valley. So closeto the city also. About 10 min West of Red Rock Casino. If you don't want to pay to drive into the scenic loop then there is always Calico Basin to park at. Many, many places to explore around this area. Always and adventure with beautiful desert scenery. If you aren't really into the desert setting, this place will change most people's minds. A must go!!
