Central Park Yoga

59th to 110th Street, New York City

Central Park is an urban park in Manhattan, New York City. Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States and one of the most filmed locations in the world. The park receives approximately 35 million visitors annually. It was established in 1857 on 315 ha land and placed it on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage sites. Central Park is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in New York. It is bordered on the north by Central Park North, on the south by Central Park South, on the west by Central Park West, and on the east by Fifth Avenue. The Park’s size and cultural position have served as a model for many urban parks in many touristic cities in the world. The park contains several natural-looking lakes and ponds that have been created artificially, extensive walking tracks, bridle paths, two ice-skating rinks, the Central Park Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory Garden, a wildlife sanctuary, a large area of natural woods, running track, and an outdoor amphitheater, the Delacorte Theater, which hosts the Shakespeare in the Park summer festivals. Indoor attractions include Belvedere Castle with its nature center, the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre, and the historic Carousel. In addition there are several minor grassy areas; some of them are used for informal or team sports and some set aside as quiet areas. There are also a number of enclosed playgrounds for children.

The iconic space is always a solid stop whenever in The City. There is always something going on in every corner. There's enough greenery for everyone to enjoy. Lots of walking trails. Different pop ups and events to entertain everyone. Plenty of people watching. Great for families with small kids, those with pets, or any group large or small. I've spent time strolling around with my dog, going for a run, celebrating birthdays, and even taken in a show! There's so many different landmarks abound - but each visit is unique and different as the experience never gets old! Bring your walking shoes, be sure to map out where you entered from since cell service is tough, and definitely have time on your hands as you never know what you'll wander into. There's a bunch of great eateries in and around the area so definitely be sure to hit those up. Enjoy your time and happy exploring!

Beautiful and varied open space in the centre of a concrete jungle. Lots to see - highlights include the many lakes and wild turtles! Nice views of the city over the treetops, which also means there is plenty of shade. The park is huge so you will always find a good spot to chill out. Lovely to and see how the locals use their treasured green space! As tourists we hired bikes for 2 hours and still didn't manage to see everything.

Wonderful place to ride a cycle, get a horse carriage ride, long walks, or just relax and people watch. You can take the outside food in the park. The food stalls outside the park are also worth trying. Park will often have entertaining people, and talented individuals to showcase their art. You can also get yourself sketched. All in all it's a good place for people watching and a spot for one day picnic.

Biking is the great way to see the park. My 17 year old son saw Central Park from the plane and announced he wanted to bike there. We easily found rental bikes (surprisingly cheaper near the park), got a map, and set off. We did most of the bike trail and it was about 1.5 hours. An ideal itinerary would be to get a packed lunch from some awesome deli and picnic. The highlights were very crowded, even on a weekday, but we found peace and quiet through most of the ride. One of the best things we did.

Definitely a well designed park. Despite the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city, Central Park provides a much needed escape. Even though you are surrounded by nearly nine million people Central Park is still relatively quiet. You can easily find spots that you can't see another human being or a skyscraper. I recommend visiting Central Park at least once.

Amazing place! If you are a tourist, I highly recommend renting a bike for touring. The rentals are cheap and you can see the whole park in a day with stops in some key areas. Should have paid $60 for two bikes for a day, but because we accepted a card from someone on the street and presented it upon arrival, our total cost for 2 bikes, helmets and a lock was $16 for 4 hours. Best spent $16 ever. Amazing spot in the heart of a fast paced city.

This is my final stop. Just had an awesome day exploring Harlem (food and the city) and came to Central Park to chill. It's truly a great park. It's hard to imagine such a nice and Green Park right next to all the skyscraper. It's an awesome place to chill, relax from the busy city life. Definitely stop by the park towards the end of your trip. It's amazing even if you're just sitting on the grass or the rocks or watching a random softball game.

A lovely park to be in New York City especially in the summer. Jog, run, cycle, or just a stroll is so much fun. There is always a crowd but the park is simply huge so every single minute is just enjoyable. Many walk their dogs too but seems that owners are responsible to pick up the poop as the park is relatively clear of dog poops. The police also make rounds so you feel really safe in the park.

I normally don't spend much time in Central Park, but was exploring the Grand Bazaar one weekend and took a stroll through. It is such a beautiful place for all to enjoy. We walked along, Starbucks in hand of course, to the reservoir and enjoyed watching some ducklings and turtles relax on the rocks. Everyone was in good spirits, as it was a Sunday afternoon, and not too much of a hustle and bustle atmosphere. Will absolutely return again.

Beautiful greens and woods with a small water body and a man created fountain in the middle of the water body. Serene place to go for a jog. For the less mobile a good walk and for the more adventurous cycling. Many walk their dogs in the park and some can be found with their snacks or lunch packets. Amidst all the concrete and glass towering on the border the trees and the chirping of birds make for some fresh breath of air.
