Madame Tussauds New York is a wax museum located on 42nd Street close to Times Square in New York City. Madame Tussauds was founded by the wax sculptor, Marie Tussaud, and is now operated by the United Kingdom-based entertainment company, Merlin Entertainments. The Madame Tussauds New York location opened in 2000 with five floors of attraction space and over 200 figures; it has quickly become a popular destination in New York City. Since opened, Madame Tussauds New York has quickly become one of the most popular Madame Tussauds locations in the world. The figure making process for Madame Tussauds is about four months long and each figure costs about $300,000 to produce start to finish. While the body is made, the figure's head is carefully sculpted out of clay and a variety of tools until a perfect likeness is achieved. Then, the teeth and eyes are fitted and each piece of hair is inserted individually. The process of hair insertion takes about two weeks to complete. Once this is finished, Madame Tussauds' artists cut and style the hair and apply the figure's makeup using several shades of oil based paints to build the exact colors and tones. Once these steps are finalized, the figure can then be dressed and accessorized.

Cool, but very busy! When we went in it was later in the evening but still super crowded. It took us about 20-30 minutes just to get inside the exhibit. The wax figures themselves were pretty cool. There were a few floors full of wax figures and each one looked fairly lifelike. We also did the ghost buster VR experience and I would totally recommend it! A little scary but man it’s a cool experience! Over all I think it’s a fun place but expect it to be busy when you go

Really fun and definitely worth the money. I love how the different rooms are themed. The movie was awesome a real great for the experience way better than Disney could ever imagine. Definitely will come back here with others.

It is fun place at the center of times square. It worth to spend money for once and having fun with taking pictures with the celebrities and well known people. But just once in your life not more than that. We tried the 3D VR game as well. It was really fun. I enjoy it a lot and recommend it if your are looking for something different.

Was quite entertaining and interesting to see famous people so accurately copied into wax. Some pieces were slightly older and maybe needed a re do but there was also a few new figures and areas from last time. Apparently they change around ever 3-6 months but this must only be a handful of figures/areas as most were the same back in 2015. Lines were very slow even with City Pass for some unknown reason but once past the entrance you were free to move at your own pace. I would use this, personally, as a time filler on a rainy day etc as it is still fun/ny to get photos and what not but there are a few more things around the city that are much higher on my list if I only had limited time

We enjoyed the museum most of the figures look for the most part just like the celeb, but a few we're off. The Rihanna & Selena Gomez just to name the ones I remember were a little off. Its a big & busy place you may have to wait less than a minute to take a picture, but it was all fun. The staff were nice and the visitors are all having fun too so it was a great time. I was surprised when we were done seemed like it was too quick. We only did the regular walk with no extras.

This place is wonderful I have been here twice already. Even though the location is pretty small, they've done a lot with the space. I loved their Ghostbusters 3D experience. I loved their 4D Avengers 10-minute film. And I loved their Kong Skull Island exhibit. They also had a lot of updated statues from the last time that I had gone 10 years ago. My favorite wax statue was the Jimmy Fallon statue and exhibit.

I had a lot of fun here and I was by myself so I can only imagine going in an group. They had enough attractions sufficient enough to get your moneys worth but to not overwhelm you either. The wax models were very realistic and I loved how they incorporated important facts and famous quotes on every celebrity or historical figure . The fact that they update and add new things to the museum every 3-4 months is a plus too. I also love the location because its in the center of the city where their is so much to do! Very memorable.

It was nice but could have used more celebrities. I was expecting to see a lot of people that were not there. It appears as if the location in Hollywood has more celebrities. Overall it was fun. Buy all tickets and extra add ons online to save money. The ghost 3d experience was fun but not worth the extra 20 per person buy it online at a cheaper price. My daughter and I had lots of fun.

I was pleasantly surprised at the good experience we had here. I kind of expected the quality to be like a side show at a fair, but it's professionally done. All the wax figures are pretty lifelike. You can get right up next to them for photos. Many of the famous people are here. You can rush through or take all the time you like..

So far a 1 star. Just got here and the people don't seem to know where NY City Pass guests go. Sent to 2 different lines and let's see if the 3rd is a charm. It was. Third person helped but wasn't sure why I had two wrong answers. Anyway, the museum had a large crowd of teens in which kept cutting everyone off. VERY irritating that they appeared not to be chaperoned, or very little. The amount of celebrities wasn't worth the price. There needs to be some order to the first set of elevators. The photos aren't fully accurate because a lot of those celebrities are no longer there. Oh, hilarious that most people posed with President Barack Obama and none were with Trumpet. Loved that part.

I went there over the summer for the first time and it was so fun and amazing. It's so amazing how some of the wax figures look so real. If you haven't went there, please do so.

Unfortunately the cashiers are very bad and rude. They even don't know how to speak with customers. And does not have any respect.

real nice, but very crowded! It seems like the city tours have packages with this location so many crowds were there when I visited. But once you pass the ticket counter the whole experience is good.

Tourist friends made me! $39 includes a wax model of your hand and a 1 hour long wait even during a quieter time at 5pm
