Riverside Park

475 Riverside Dr, New York City

Riverside Park is a scenic waterfront public park on the Upper West Side of the borough of Manhattan in New York City, operated and maintained by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. The park consists of a narrow 4-mile (6.4 km) strip of land between the Hudson River and the gently curving rise-and-fall of Riverside Drive. When the park was first laid out, access to the river was blocked by the right-of-way of the New York Central Railroad West Side Line; later the railroad track was covered over with an esplanade lined with honey-locusts. Riverside Park also contains part of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway, which encircles Manhattan's waterfronts with car-free bike routes.

Great little park tucked away at the side of Manhattan. Famous for scenes in "When Harry met Sally" and "Sex and the City" to name just two, with nice views over the Hudson to New Jersey it's definitely worth a visit. We went both for a stroll during the day as well as to see the sunset one evening and both were equally nice visits. I also got to see some classic New York dog walkers in action!

Absolutely beautiful clean tranquil somber full of color and excellent scenery locations upon the route. Great photo opportunities available here. Easily manuevered the 6 miles of beauty expertly. Definitely will be taking a few of my nature junkies with me the next time my husband and I embark on another adventure.

Always love Riverside Park! But have a big problem. The insects love me and think that I am their next meal. Curiously, this is not the case for other people. Should have gone to the beach instead, there I do not have to worry about insects.

Came here with our pup during Autumn. It's quite pretty, and linear, running along the river with views of Jersey at the bottom of the hill, and a walkway running along the water. The walkway is a bit intense with lots of people working out. The park itself is much calmer and quieter. Nice setting.

Love going here. Along the river. Nice views. Great flat running and biking path. And it's mostly wide enough to accommodate cyclists+runners going in both directions. Plus, in April, you get to see nice cherry blossoms.

Beautiful, designed perfectly for a stroll, run or a bike ride. I read and meditate here all the time. It is also a great place for photography. I would build and house here if I could. Oh and do not forget the best views.

I absolutely love the whole of Riverside. There are a number of playgrounds for the little ones. There is a beautiful garden in the mid-80's and plenty of paths to walk and enjoy. If you venture all the way down you will be by the water which is one of my personal favorite parts. You can walk, run or ride your bike all along the water. There are a few fields for playing sports and bathrooms. Overall, this part of the city is great and I highly recommend you visit.

Great place to take your family and friends or you can go there to relax, workout. If you enjoy sports and eating you will find restaurants too. This park has a lot of things to offer for both adults and children. There is also a lot of activity all season for both adults and children. This park is very clean the view is also very good. You can take the BX 19 and the M11 or just travel by car. There are after school programs. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the view when you need time alone.

Most people don't know it, but this park is way better than Central Park. That is, if you want to scenic view to enjoy yourself or share with a loved one. And you'll get one wicked sunset over the water. But, if you head out close to the water pass the highway, you should probably stay close to the entrances because the stretches between passageways are far between. Or maybe you can pack a lunch, make a day out of it. Also, there's quite a few soccer fields and tennis courts and even a skate park. Go on and relax and watch a game if you have the time. If you want my vote, it's the absolute best park in Manhattan, but if you're looking for a place to eat you should probably get it before entering

Park is one of many wonderful parks that Manhattan has along its fabulous waterfront. It's a great place to hike, jog or bike. The view of the Hudson (I know this is a strange thing to say) is routinely jaw-dropping. It's just a gorgeous park anytime of year, but most especially right now in the summertime.
