One of the best meals I have ever had, bar none. That is saying something for foodies from Manhattan. Sublime cauliflower dish, and a double cheese vegan burger. You won't miss the meat. Great service, upscale setting, awesome cocktails! I can't wait to come back!

I just discovered this fantastic restaurant. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, organic AND very tasty. We just had the mushroom crepes, cauliflower, polenta and a fantastic dessert the chocolate peanut butter. The hostess and server - Miranda were fantastic. Definitely will come back to try other dishes in the Menu **DELICIOUS**

I had a pleasant time , the food was great and even greater that we didn't have to worry about any meats touching our food. The service was quick, we made reservations and arrived before our scheduled time and were seated right away. Everything was done fairly quick and we didn't stay in the restaurant for more than an hour. Will definitely be coming back. Our waiter was amazing!

Amazing vegan restaurant. The food was beyond amazing well at least what I had (Wild Mushroom Crepe). My wife had the the spaghetti and wheat balls which I tried as well. By the way my wife isn't even vegan she just came to try it with me and she is picky but she loved the dish so that extremely made me happy to be able to share that experience with her. The waiters where extremely helpful, polite, and just amazing. Definitely recommend this place and yes I will be back.

I've had Candle 79 bookmarked for over two years and it was worth the wait! I loved the casual feel yet of this restaurant. The restaurant was a bit dark inside, definitely a place where you can enjoy a dinner date, it wasn't loud, and there wasn't a lot of people when I went with a friend mid-week for dinner. The patrons were a mix of late 30s to 50s so it was a good mix of people. It didn't feel at all pretentious despite being in UES. The staff was friendly and helpful with helping us decide what to order. I tried the crepe which was amazing. Everything came well together. Portions were perfect. We ended up eating our entire plate and had no room to share. It says a lot that they wowed a non-vegan friend with their spaghetti and meatballs. Their food is tasty. I would highly recommend it. Definitely coming back again, on my list of good vegan restaurants!

My first choice for the best in vegan/vegetarian dining. This upscale gourmet vegan restaurant is the ultimate experience. Posh setting feels luxurious - red velvet and dark woodwork make you feel like you are truly out on the town. Get to the menu and there are simply TOO MANY EXCELLENT CHOICES! I’ve eaten there a half dozen times and still can’t say I’ve tasted everything that appeals to me. The desserts are over the top and provide the perfect finish to a meal worth boasting and bragging. I bring friends here I want to impress who appreciate the best and are socially conscious. Two thumbs up.

Great food and drinks. Spaghetti and wheat balls are yummy. The homemade ginger ale is more like Caribbean ginger beer. The ice cream and sorbet sampler was delicious. Overall you will not be disappointed.

My friends who are not vegan enjoy Candle 79 as much as those who are. The menu is unique, the dishes are high quality and worth the extra you pay. You get the best choices at brunch when the menu expands to both lunch and the brunch specials, that may be the best first time to try it.

All the people were so nice and attentive. Great food. Good drinks and good ambiance. They have gluten and soy free options. The three cheeses were my favorite. I have tried this starter and different restaurants but this is the winner!
