This small restaurant tucked behind the port authority is surprisingly huge in atmosphere and quality pizza. The brick walls are covered with signs, and pictures from an earlier era. Also along the wall is a row of red wines begging to be freed from their corks. The bathroom is the old fashioned box with a pully system last seen by me from the famous scene in the Godfather. The pizza is made from high quality Italian ingredients cooked by brick oven heat. The salads ate authentic Italian style as well. I wanted to order the entire menu - from artichokes to anchovies, they have a wide variety of classic flavors. Finally the service was impeccable. Polite and aware but not obtrusive. I highly recommend walking to this outpost hidden in the heart of Manhattan!

This place is gem. Little original Italian pizzeria that deliver consistently a very good real Italian pizza. Ingredients are of the highest quality, the wood oven is perfectly mastered. Service is fast, nice and professional. Salad and appetizer (the only choice you can have with Pizza) are equally tasty and with prime grade ingredients. Absolutely recommended.

The pizza was decent - nothing to write home about. We had the "loaded" and the one with Italian sausage and caramelized fennel - both were OK. Their home-made sangria was nice and the service was ok. Lucky enough, there was no line-up when we showed up around 9:15 pm and we immediately got a table.

Superb pizza between Brooklyn style & real Italian taste, but closest to the south of Italy... service and very good wine selection, and tiny place so be ready to wait. We want to thank the manager for the tip about a great rooftop bar “Skylark” that he recommended with an amazing dazzling view of the “ Empire State Building “ for us honestly is better than “ 230- 5 th ave rooftop “ better crowd & more intimate..... enjoy the time in New York !!!! P.S amazing live DJ.

Everything here was perfect. The crust was just the right amount of thin and crispy, the ingredients were great (definitely get prosciutto on your pizza!), the staff was friendly and appeared right when you needed them. On a whim we got the rice/spinach balls appetizer, because it was a different set of ingredients than I normally see at Italian restaurants...they were delicious. The sangria was excellent. And the pizza...mouthwatering. I'm so satisfied right now.

I didn't get to eat here but I still had a bad experience. We went there and they were full. I asked how long it'd be for a table for 2. The man said 5 minutes. 15minutes later and we were still waiting. I understand you're busy but don't say 5 minutes to try and keep me around. I went to Don Antonio instead. On a positive note, the place looked homey and cozy.

Some of the best pizza we have ever had! We found this around the corner from our hotel and are so glad we did. It is such a beautiful place, service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing! Not too expensive especially for the quality of ingredients and food. Highly recommend!

A wonderful evening meal with my Girlfriend while we were in the city on holiday. The place has a very traditional look and feel which only added to the experience. The pizza was as good as either of us had ever eaten and their Canolli dessert was fantastic. All of this coupled with great service meant it must be 5*. I'd recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Stopped in with my boyfriend while visiting the city based on reviews I've read. This place exceeded my expectations. A small and very quaint spot where you can hear the city but feel like you're in little Italy. Wonderful section of more upscale pizzas. Old word charm made this an authentic experience. The brick oven pizza was light, crunchy, hot and absolutely amazing. Please stop in if you want to enjoy a nice meal.

I enjoyed my visit to Capizzi. When you walk into the restaurant it feels like you're stepping into an Italian home of yesteryear. It's cozy, intimate, and a great setting for a catch-up or date night. This specific location focuses on the wood oven pizzas which are great, but offer a few salad options -- also good -- and a handful of apps. My table ordered the buratta cheese sans the prosciutto and found it quite tasty. If you're looking for a casual place to eat, this is for sure a worthwhile option.
