Atmosphere was nice but the busyness of the place made it noisy, which I guess is right for a family place. With a reservation it was easy to get it. The bartender was enthusiastic and sweet, providing great suggestions while we waited for our table. Our waitress seemed busy (we arrived during a rush) but later on seemed exhausted with us. We, admittedly, asked a lot of questions to differentiate between the two lobster dishes so maybe that's why. The food was okay. We ended up splitting one of the lobster meals and the taste was good but the meat in the claws was overcooked to the point where it was less than appetizing. Probably best to avoid the seafood in a place like this. Other dishes looked fine on other plates. Dessert was good!

A must do in NYC! Make the reservations & GO! Service is family style, so narrow your choices to one or two entrees. They bring a big bread selection. My family of 5 (kids ages 7, 11, 13) ordered lasagna & spaghetti & meatballs. The spaghetti was our fave. It was SO GOOD! This dessert - the Tugboat, a smaller version of the Titanic - isn't as fab as it looks. Go with something else. Wear whatever you want. It is a nice atmosphere, but people were wearing all different levels of dress. We wore jeans & nice shirts. Some were dressed for a show. Others were dressed from their day of exploring.

After spending the day at Time's Square and asking every local around where is the best place to eat, and we're lucky enough to snag a later reservation for Carmine's! Even with a reservation, we still waited a pretty good amount of time for a table. About 25 min after our reservation time we wound up sitting at the bar while waiting for our table and loved the bartender, Alana, so much we decided to just stay at the bar and eat dinner. (Alana made the best Manhattan we've ever had!) We ordered the spaghetti and meatball (and let me tell you, I am a HUGE fan of spaghetti and meatballs). I have yet to really be impressed by a restaurant's spaghetti and meatballs but Carmine's is amazing! (If you tell my grandma this... I will most definitely deny it) but hands down the best spaghetti and meatballs I have ever had. I was so stuffed and had so much food to spare! We will definitely be back to Carmine's if we do ever come back to New York!

It’s a super busy venue but the food comes out quick. Be aware the portions are huge! Definitely order one main meal to share between 2 and take home the rest. Amazing food, amazing service. The staff are fantastic and it’s well worth the visit if you’re around Times Square.

The service and food were both amazing. The wait to be seated was very long, but what else can you expect for a great sit-down restaurant in Time Square. The food is intended to be family style, so there are no personal portions and every dish is intended to serve multiple people. My wife and I had no appetizers and no dessert and only finished half of the one entree we ordered. The only disappointment we had was that, with such big portions, there was no way to try multiple things or order extra vegetables without wasting a lot of food. Go with some friends and make a party of it

This place was worth the trouble. The first two times I tried eating here it was in the evening and had an hour wait. It was already too late to wait that long. Luckily on our last day we came for lunch there was no wait at all. We were seated all the way in the back but it had a great view of the restaurant. They serve family sized portions, which our server informed us which is bad since it was just two of us but great since we had delicious leftovers for later. We had the MANICOTTI and just those 2 pieces was very filling since its very rich. I would recommend if you enjoy creamy, cheesy and rich flavor but if you don't enjoy those things it might not be for you. It was a great experience and came out to $25 per person including 2 sodas no dessert sadly too full and the desserts looked to be shareable.

I had tried visiting this restaurant many time for dinner however wait time was more than 1hr 30mins each. This time we decided to try for lunch and yes we got the table soon. Food is good. Quantity of food is too large and restaurant would inform you the same. 3 of us visited the restaurant and ordered one appetizer and one entree. We could not finish both and had to be packed. They pack food in nice containers. It is worth the money!!!

Great Italian food. Great staff. Couple that with a great atmosphere and you have a good restaurant. I have been to to this place a few times with friends or it’s great for visiting parents which my mom really loves this place. I have never been disappointed. I very much highly recommend this place especially if you enjoy awesome food and great staff serving and are trying to entertain company.

the restaurant awesome , it's called time square, the menu foods and awesome welcome style. we are order some Italian foods and full service and a pleasant ambiance. Great food and service. The waiters were professional and the menu was very well thought. I especially liked the dessert menu, and the drinks menu. There is a lot to choose from and as far as menus go. The lines are very long though and if you do not have a reservation, the wait might kill you. They are good service and make delicious food. The end of juice and ice cream is awesome, they restaurant make some difference, the food and menu acceptance is good

My husband took me there for my birthday. It was crowded but I guess when you're great, you're popular. The staff is super courteous and so attentive. The food is excellent and tastes really good. Warning: don't go there alone or bring a date as it is a family style restaurant. You won't be able to eat the big portion size food they have. Price is super reasonable considering the amount of food you'll receive. Highly recommended for group outing, family night out, etc.

Plates are huge – about 3 people to a plate. 2 people to a plate if you're really hungry. Eggplant parm is great. Touristy spot, but food can be good. Cavernous space; good for groups.
