Can't believe this was my first time here.. What a gem of a restaurant! Fantastic pasta and the branzino was just delicious. In fact, everything our table of 5 got looked and tasted amazing. The by the glass wine list was rather limited though, which was a bit surprising. Really cool selection of Italian beers though. Oh, and the setting is great too - in the old Rockefeller townhouses. And I'd also compliment the service - these guys really know what they are doing.

Good food and atmosphere. Tables are on the small and tight side. Also since the place was quite small the kitchen was close to where we sit, we left with our clothes and jackets smell like garlic...

I'm Not sure if I liked the entrance of the restaurant. It's a narrow downstairs way in. Inside you would never guess you are in a basement. Spacious nice lit, mirrors help. The hands-on silent signs for 3 types of water tap-still-sparkling I found cute. It was my birthday intimate dine and wine. I found food very very precise carefully made and decorated there. It seams if a chef would take a ruler and other tools just to place it on my plate. That was paired with balanced tender flavors. Texture of fish was outstanding. (Broiled thinly sliced wild bass served over a salad)

Food was wonderful and nice setting Smaller portions - need a promo and secondi for full meal Ravioli - creamy and delicious Meatloaf - great texture without being too meaty... potatoes very fluffy... I liked it with the spinach Chocolate mouse - hard to go wrong, but I’d like that there were some layers in it rather than being all the same $79 all in without a drink

I am always looking for excellent and upscale Italian restaurants. Especially in New York. Il Gattopardo hit the mark. Recommended by friends, this restaurant did not disappoint. The atmosphere, food, and service were outstanding. The authentic Italian food was fresh and well prepared. My wife had the seafood risotto, and I had scialatielli pasta with shellfish ragu. Service was attentive. This is an expensive restaurant but worth it. My only issue was the acoustics. It was extremely loud in the restaurant to the point it was difficult to have a conversation. We were seated next to three large groups. The more they drank, the louder they became. Once they began eating, the noise level decreased, but not by much. It did not ruin the evening, but it came close.
