Absolutely delicious food. My best dinner in New York during my vacation. Very friendly service and great, great, great food. Best Japanese cousin in the city. I will come again and will recommend this place to my friends.

Loved this place! During our 1 week stay in NYC we ate here twice. I am Japanese and I give their food 5-star. Reasonably priced for what you get. Pretty popular. Get there before 5:30 to avoid long wait. Not all their food is traditional or authentic Japanese, but they are very good and definitely something Japanese people and those who love Japanese food would enjoy! My family including a 9 year old and 72 year old all loved this place. Mew will not disappoint you. Some employees there speak Japanese as well. FYI, it is located downstairs, easy to miss. Look for the sign carefully as you get close and take the stairs down to MEW.

Bustling Japanese eatery downstairs in a cozy pocket. Service is friendly prompt and helpful. Each time I've come for lunch or dinner it's always bustling. Great food and fun casual atmosphere makes this one of my favorites

Love this place. The sushi is always so fresh and the restaurant is clean. The ambience of the place looks really inviting. The service is attentive. Most importantly, everything is delicious. I've been here at least a handful amount of times and without hesitation would come back for more!

This place has a great atmosphere. They don't take reservations so we had to wait about 40 min. The food is all smaller items to share which is great because you can try multiple things. The food comes out very quickly so I suggest ordering in waves unless you want a table filled with everything at once. The house sake wasn't bad at all and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.

Ramen is only above average compared to other choices in Manhattan but many of the other food choices are delicious too. The music is a bit loud but some people like this. Some negatives are the long waiting times and small waiting area. The food is worth the wait in my opinion. This restaurant mainly draws the young, hip crowd.

This place was beaming on a Friday night. The Japanese food was excellent for the price paid. There was a wait of approx. 40 minutes which was fine because they allowed you to enjoy the music and get drinks from the bar. I went with my boyfriend and he really enjoyed the garlic fried rice.

Amazing Japanese food, and inexpensive to boot! Don't let the hip rustic setting fool you, this joint will convince you japanese food is very tasty. To those who equate Japanese food to sushi, please try everything else, you cannot go wrong! I have yet to try something that is not great! All waiters are so nice and attentive. My favorite place ever!!!even if you have to wait, it's totally worth while! If you don't like to wait arrive between 5-5:15pm.

Excellent restaurant. In my week in NY stay I went here 3 times and all 3 times the standard was very high. Sushi was top notch and so were the noodles. Can't wait to go back to NY just to go eat here again.

[This place is cash-only] A very small, nice, and cute place for some Japanese food and small plates in midtown. Come here for lunch, as the lunch price is more reasonable ( in fact it is cheaper than most other Japanese restaurants around in terms of lunch) but not the dinner. Strangely, the portion is a lot smaller for dinner despite the higher price. The nice thing is that the price includes taxes, which makes ordering a lot easier.
