The food was fantastic i had the chicken and pancakes so tasty and filling could not finish it all. Our server Angel was also funny and attentive. my wife had the salmon salad and my friends had the ribs and meatloaf. The taste combinations was excellent for big eaters done the way southern food should be prepared. My only critque if any was the volume of the music. We were entertaining guest from out of town and the music was so loud we could not hear each other talk. So after dinner we left and went to a small cafe around the corner called Cafe Lalo and had coffee and deserts. All in all a great NY night

Delicious! A great spot to try if you’re visiting NYC. You can’t find southern comfort food like this easily in Montreal. It was an awesome atmosphere and a great menu! Their fried pickles are perfect! Quartered first, served with a spicy mayo. The portion sizes are huge. I wish our server had told us that because we wouldn’t have ordered separate plates, so I felt a little deceived. I ate my one meal for 4 meals. I recommend going as soon as they open otherwise you’ll be waiting outside! Great spot!

Food is amazing, staff is friendly, and service is great. Portions are huge and well worth the price. There's a lot of drink options if you're into cocktails or beer. I recommend the hot chicken and biscuit sandwich and the chicken and pancakes. Both are huge and delicious! We'll definitely be back again.

Love this place! I dream of the burger melt long after it is gone, and the sandwich with chicken and gravy was delicious too! Both sandwiches were too large for either myself or my adult brother to eat in one sitting, which was nice since they tasted delicious later even when cool! We used to ride past on the bus or in a car and wonder what all the people waiting in line were doing at a pickle place, well now we know! I keep meaning to take pictures to post and show how the food looks, but I always dig in to the food so quickly I forget. Besides the sloppy appearance of the burger patty melt belies the absolutely staggering deliciousness of the sandwich itself!

This place is the best. The service is great, the portions are HUGE, and the food is delicious! I've been twice, ordering different appetizers, drinks, and entrees each time and I honestly liked everything I tried. I strongly recommend their sandwiches (any of them) because the biscuits they use for the bread is so good. The pickles are obviously great, but their cheesy grits are also worth mentioning, because I don't even like grits but found these to be delightful. This place is kinda tiny and it's well known so you should try to book a table in advance since you can end up waiting forever for a table otherwise.

The Buffalo Mac N Cheese was so good! I was totally uninterested but due to the community style seating, other guests were sharing their faves,... and let me tell you, it was delicious!! I ordered the ribs which were just ok. Also my server was like an abusive relationship... one minute she was borderline rude then she was nice,.. then she was hot then she was cold... The other staff seemed nice so perhaps she's the outlier. I'd visit them again.

Officially, this one of the best places (there are three, in my opinion) for fried chicken in the boroughs. Jacob's Pickles is beautifully designed, the background music is killer, service is terrific, and any of the chicken sandwiches (which are served on biscuits and accompanied by grits) will be the best thing you tasted that day. Street corner, fried pickles, BBQ chicken sandwich, chicken sandwich with gravy, lemonade, and I could go on. I recommend you make a reservation, and waiting for a table is well worth it.

I've been here many times for brunch and dinner. Prepare for an hour wait for brunch if you go at any normal time and for dinner any day from 6:30-8:30. Luckily they will take your phone number and text you when your table is ready, so you can grab a drink somewhere else while you wait. I think the wait is worth it for dinner, but not brunch. The fried chicken, biscuits, and pickles are fantastic - so if you want chicken for brunch, go for it. The standard brunch choices like egg sandwiches and omelettes are good, but not worth the hype. Come for dinner- the prices are fantastic for the quantity of food you get (the fried chicken and pancakes are humongous) and the setting is lively.

If you're visiting NY, this place is a must! They serve delicious soul/comfort food in really humongous portions. It is truly an authentic American experience :). I had the chicken and pancakes dish. Absolutely delicious but impossible to finish. Come here hungry and during the week to avoid the crowds.

Went for a late lunch and we both had fried chicken and biscuits and they were both really really good. Great range of beers. Didn't have any pickles on this visit but if time allows we'll be back before we leave town. Great service from everyone not just our server too!
