Solid steak. One of the best in the city! Also has a good view of the park if you can get a table by the window. Slightly higher in price than other steakhouses in the city, but you won't be disappointed.

The best steakhouse in New York. I love how clean & crisp the restaurant layout is from top to bottom. The menu is quiet sophisticated but the service & delivery’s simple but classy. They make you feel at home unlike some other establishments who cater to those they know. Here you are family & I love Porter House like family!

Good food overall and excellent service. Drinks were delicious and the food was well proportioned. The filet steak was the highlight of my lunch. The sides could use some work but overall I highly recommend dining here.

Tried Porter House for the first time. Had wine and dinner on at Thursday evening at the bar, where the service was top-notch--really nice folks who were attentive and offered good conversation. Wine list was solid and I enjoyed a bottle (well, shared a glass with a fellow patron there at the end). Ordered the bibb salad as a starter and it was FANTASTIC--really nice chunks of bacon that were perfectly cooked. Ordered the cowboy ribeye and when it came, it looked great and the flavor/cut was excellent, but it was overdone by a full grade, which is why--because this is a steakhouse--I have to offer four instead of five stars. I'll also say that the view wasn't anywhere near what I was expecting based on the pictures on their website. That said, overall a good experience, great service, a nice atmosphere, and good food.

We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and what a great decision that was. From start to finish, the service and food was out of this world! Our server, Jen P. was absolutely amazing. Personable, attentive and very pleasant. A definite for anyone who wants a truly memorable experience and food & drink to die for! You can't go wrong with anything you order - seriously, everything was good from the appetizers to dessert. Tim, the Maitre D' was outstanding! As my husband said when the check came - "you only live once." Thank you Jen and Tim for making our family celebration a memorable one!

Very high class steak house. I had a simple first course if American oysters from various places (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut if I remember correctly) with a serious French Sancerre that stood up beautifully to the iodine. Then a matured steak, delicious and correctly cooked (although I would have preferred somewhat rarer) with a magnificent Puligny-Montrachet premier cru 2009 that was a perfect match. The staff was curtious and helpful although, as always in the US, a bit too present and too quick to serve the dishes. Outside from this minor inconvinience, a truly nice meal.

I've been to several steakhouses in NYC. This one is pretty awesome in terms of the cooking(even appetizers&desserts are great), the food's portion(generally huge steak, but depends on what you order), and the waiters' service(responsive&gentle, no discrimination of any kind). Considering it as an ordinary steak restaurant, I do agree that everything is a little bit overpriced. But I would go back for the black truffle with mashed potato as a side dish.

Set up reservations for post engagement, management greeted us with champagne. We both had an amazing steak and side dishes. Wasn't cheap, but was a great meal.

Typical overpriced New York steakhouse solely because of the “view” which is located on the 4th floor. I will recommend 4 other steakhouses to go to before I would ever recommend this establishment to anyone. I went once and once only. You know that feeling you get when you sit down and your like..... we should have gone to the other place. This is that place. Period.
