Always a great view from the top. I really enjoy the add-on viewing pad that they offer. It shows a number of the landmarks with history at your fingertips. Skipping the Line tickets are the way to go IMHO.

Over rated. Skip the line for the ticket but line up for to get to the observatory 15- 20 min. My wife liked it, I really, really didnt like it. I thought it a place to be avoided. After you buy the tickets the it takes a long to get to the observation floor. There were so many people that it was hard to get the window. Why I think the place should be avoided is that there is no /little information on the spectacular view. I paid 15 for the one world explorer ipad. They didnt give out earphone so everyone had the sound blaring on different views. The app did not have enough point of interest and you couldnt select items that you wanted for more information...There was only a limited list. They observatory depends on the app and the app simply is terrible. AVOID, dont bother.

Try and choose a blue sky day. Listen to the NYC expert giving a talk on the observation deck. Afterwards visit the Oculus transportation terminal. Very futuristic and ride the NYC East River Ferry if you have the chance. Cheap and amazing views. Much better than the Subway.

A must do in New York. You can pay an extra 10 for an iPad guide that follows your view pointing out the sights and a synopsis on what you see. A great attraction and very well run.
